The leagues in Europe are in a complete shutdown over the Coronavirsus. The leagues matches in Europe have all been postponed until April 3rd. This means that alot of league will have to try and fit alot of games in short period of time. Some leagues are 12 to 14 games behind each other. The Euros are also coming up which will make it even harder to complete games and finish off European Competitions. The Coronavirsus could last until the end of the year or beyond because people don’t know how to stop it. There a UEFA meeting on Tuesday to decide weather to postponed the Euros until next summer of 2021.

The postponing of league also has a big financial implication for all the teams in each league. Alot of small teams will struggle to stay in business as they need matchday ticket money to stay afloat. Teams could be relegated and be put out of business. It also disrupts the social gatherings and ability to have fun watching games with your friends. Leagues could be decided by a play off or leaving the league the way it is an marking it null for this year. Hopefully the matches will be played during the summer so if the virsus has died down by then. It hard to know what to do without soccer in TV. Imagine if liverpool are denied there first league title in 30 years there would be uproar. Teams like Arsenal and Manchester United would be very happy about that. I think the Euros will be pushed back to the summer 2021 and leagues will be finished in the late summer.

In the Bundesliga Bayern Munich remain top of the league. The team is firing on all cylinders at the moment. They looked likely to retain the league again this year. Bayern also battered Chelsea 4-0 in the champions league. The team won at home 2-0 against Augsburg. They move 4 points clear of the team in second. Borussia Dortmund leap frog RB Leipzig into second place. It was there seventh straight win in there last eight matches. RB Leipzig played out a very boring draw against Wolfsburg . They moved in to third place after there second draw in a row. RB Leipzig play Tottenham Hotspur in the champions league on Tuesday in a game they need to win.

Bayern Leverkusan beat Frankfurt to move on to 47 points. They beat Frankfurt 4-0 with 2 goals from there forward Paulinho. The top scorer in the league is Robert Lewandowski with 25 goals. Timo werner is in second place with 21 goals. Borussia monchengladbach and Schalke are sitting in the Europa league places. Werder Bremen, Mainz and Dusseldorf are the in the relegation spots and look like they will go down. Bayern Leverkusan have moved into fourth place and into the champions league places. Wolfsburg were pushed out of the Europa league places and are now in the seventh place. Hoffenheim,Koln and Freiburg are fighting it out to try and reach the Europa league places. RB Leipzig looked like they would be able to challenge Bayern Munich but there challenge is falling away. The team is quite young and lacks experience but it will be able to learn and challenge again next year. Hopefully Bayern Munich will lose a few matches by the end of the year but it doesn’t looked like it will happen.

Barcelona have gone on top since by last blog post. Real Madrid suffered a shocked defeat as they lost 1-0 to Leavante. The club also lost there there champions league match against Manchester city during the week. The match this weekend is El Clasicso. It’s the biggest match in the Spanish league between Barcelona and Real Madrid. This match could decide the league title. Atletico Madrid drew with Espanyol to put a damper on there top four hopes. The club is really struggling to find there form in the league. Sevilla beat Osuana to move in to third in the league. The club will hoping to make the champions league this season. Getafe who have been the surprised package of the season and are in fourth place. They beat Malloca 1-0 to move ahead of Atletico Madrid. Real Sociedad are in sixth place and hoping to qualify for the champions league or Europa League. The top scorer in league is the usual suspect Lionel Messi. He scored a hat-trick against Eibar.He had gone four games without scoring before that on a so called goal drought.He now has 18 goals in the league and looks likely to win the golden boot again.Mallorca , Espanyol and Leganes are at the bottom of the league fighting it out to survive. Each team hopes they survive but it is inevitable that at least two of them will go down.Atlectico Bilbao beat Villarreal 1-0. Real Madrid really need to win the league to have a good season or else it would be seen as a failure. Valencia are sixth in the league and will be hoping to get European football. Barcelona had to make an emergence signing after the transfer window close. Luis Suarez and Dembele are out injured so they had to sign someone from the Spanish league. They took Marcus Brathwaite from Leganes. Brathwaite was the top scorer for Leganes with Six goals. Leganes are now guaranteed to be relegated. Leganes don’t have the money that Barcelona has so they are unable to sign anyone. It’s a bit unfair to everyone else in the league. Madrid and Barcelona really need to win this match to save there friends season. They looked like they won’t do much in Europe. Real Madrid beat Barcelona 2-0 with goals from vininus jr and Mariano Diaz. This help Madrid go top of the league. This relieves alot of pressure off Zinedine zidane back. It put alots of pressure on Barcelona. This will make the title run in exciting.

A lot has has happen in three weeks in Serie A in Italy. Inter were on top for a short while but Lazio who were in third manage to beat Inter Milan 2-1. Lazio are now in second place and are four points off Juventus with a game in hand. Juventus have struggled to at there best. The team is only grinding out results. The players are still trying to get use Maurizio Sarri way of playing and are struggling to adapt to it. Cristiano Ronaldo has been on great form which has help Juventus stay on top. He has now score in 11 matches in a row in the league which equals the records. It has brought his tally up to 21 goals. Cairo Immobile from Lazio is also in great form and has 26 goals in the league. Due to the Coronavirsus there were three matches called off in the league this week and there might be more. This has allow clubs to have a rest. Ac Milan have had a bit of downturn in form and are drawing a lot matches. They drew against Fiorentina at the weekend which put them in seventh place just outside the Europa league places. Napoli have had an upturn in for and are now sixth. They beat Bresica 2-1 and now are only 3 points off Roma in fifth place. Bresica are struggling at the bottom and look to be relegated along with Spal. Atalanta are sitting in fourth place and are the top scorers in the league.There football is quite exciting to watch. They also had an amazing win in the champions league during the week. Atalanta beat Valencia 4-1 and look certain to qualify for the quarter finals. Bologna drew with Udinese to help with there chances of qualifying for the Europa league. Genoa,Sampdoria and Leece are all fighting to avoid being in the third place to be relegated. There is only three or four points separating each team. The next big match coming up is Inter Milan versus Juventus. The tide could decide who wins the league. Lazio are playing an amazing brand of football and it would be amazing if they win the league. Juventus have alot of experience in these sort of moments and will use to pressure. They will be tough to beat.Lazio beat Genoa by 3-2. This puts them only one point behind Juventus and 2 points ahead of Inter Milan. Cairo Immobile score another goal today to bring his tally to 26 goals in the league. He is leading the European golden boot race. He will be a dangerous threat for Italy at the Euro’s.

Bayern Munich are leading the way in the Bundesliga title race again. RB Leipzig were leading the Bundesliga for most of the season. Bayern Munich were struggling at the start of the season but have found there feet again. RB Leipzig have alot of young talent and are hoping that they can dethrone Bayern Munich. Borussia Dortmund are third in the table and are having a very up and down season. Erling Haland is the new striker on the block for Borussia Dortmund. He only joined in January but has already got seven goals. He is one for the future. Robert Ledwandowski is leading the score charts with 23 goals. He is averaging a goal every game which is amazing. Borussia monchengladbach have been the surprised package of the season so far and are sitting in fourth place but are level with Borussia Dortmund. The team plays a nice brand of attacking football. Bayer leverkusan and Schalke are in the the Europa league places as they battle to try and reach Europe. Werder Breman, Mainz 05 and Fortuna Dusseldorf are in the the bottom three and are struggling to survive. Herta Berlin had to replace there manager Jurgen klinsmann after he decided to step down after only a few months in charge. They are in the bottom six and will need time to adjust to a new manager.Wolfburg and Hoffenheim are trying to get into Europa league are sitting in 6 and 7 place. RB Leipzig are the only team that have a chance of stopping Bayern Munich and putting and end to their reign in Germany. Borussia Dortmund have alot of young stars that will need time to settle in. Bayern Munich are also hoping that they can go far in the champions league and become a dominant force in Europe again.

The La liga has been a three horse race for the last few years . Barcelona have come out on top for the last two years in a row between Real Madrid and Atlectio Madrid . Real Madrid manage by Zinedine zidane have set th La Liga as priority as they havent won it for two years. Atletico Madrid are going through a rebuilding period with lots of new players replacing the old guard.The losses of Antonie Griezmann and Diego Godin can be felt through the team. Joao Felix was brought in for €120 million to replace Griezmann but he has struggle to adapt to the Spanish League .The Spanish side lied fourth in the table. Getafe have been the surprised package of the season and lied third in the table.

Mallorca,Leganes and Espanyol are struggling at the bottom of the table. There is also a few other teams struggling and there will be a dogfight at the end of the season. Lionel Messi is leading the way in the scoring charts as usual with 14 goals. Karim Benzema is second with 13 as Real Madrid still struggle to fill the space left by Cristiano Ronaldo.Luis Suarez is is third on the list but is now out for the rest of the season with an injury. Real Madrid looked like the most likely to win it as they have the strongest squad. Eden hazard is injured but will be back soon. Barcelona had to replace their manager this season as they want to play a better brand of football. Quique Setien will need time to set introduce his own brand of football to the team. The Spanish league has lot of teams fighting for the Europa league places such as Valencia,Sevilla and Real Sociedad. It looks like the title race could go down to the wire. It’s entertaining from a fan points of view.

For the last 8 years Juventus have dominated the Italian top flight league winning the title 8 years in a row. By signing Cristiano Ronaldo they looked like they have guaranteed the title for another few years until the arrival of Antione Conte this year. Cristiano Ronaldo has come back to his best form with 18 goals in the league. He has scored in 9 games in row in the League. Conte is a unique manager that is able to get a lot out of his players and in a great tactician. Inter have turned from a team that barely got into the top four for champions league places to a team that is challenging for the title once again. Lazio have also entry the title race with there star striker Ciro Immobile leading  the scoring charts with 25 goals. Ac Milan have had an upturn in form since the return of Zlaten Ibrahimovic in January . They have won 5 of there last 7 matches and drawn It has brought them closer to the top 6 again and in there in the Europa league places again. Atalanta are the surprize package of the last few years in Serie A . They play a lot of attacking football and are one of the top scoring teams in Europe. They also qualified for the champions league this year and reach the last 16 for the first time. Napoli are probably the most disappointing team in Serie a this year as they came second in the league last year and are now in eleventh place. They have had a change in manager with Gennaro Gattuso taking over from Carlo Ancelotti.They have a lot of ups and downs. Gattuso will need time to stamp his own style on the Napoli team. Roma started to struggled at the start of the year but have had an upturn in form. They are now fifth in the league level on points with Atalanta.There manager likes to play attacking football. At the bottom of the league you have Genoa , Spal and Brescia. Mario Balotelli returned to his hometown and has had impact with a few goals hear and there but it doesn’t looked like he alone will be able to keep them up. Its hard to know what team will win the league this year but its is the most exciting year in the league for years.
